Criminal Services

At Williamson & Soden we have a dedicated team of criminal defence specialists who can represent you at police stations, Magistrates’ Courts and Crown Court.

We are able to offer a complete service ensuring that our clients are represented from the outset at the Police Station, if a client is charged, at the Magistrates Court and through to the Crown Court and on to the Court of Appeal.  Our team of lawyers have a wealth of experience in the field of crime.  They are there to protect your interests and advise you of procedures and the best way of dealing with your case.  We are able to offer an in house "cradle to grave" criminal defence service which takes our clients from the Police stations through to the Higher Courts.

At the police station, we provide a 24 hour telephone number and advice and representation is free for as long as a person is held in custody.  Just call 0121 778 5000 at any time of the day or night.

If you are charged to appear before the Magistrates Court one of our team will be there to represent you at that hearing and throughout each appearance thereafter.

If your matter proceeds to the Crown Court your case will be handled by our specialist team from the Crown Court Department who will ensure your interests are best served throughout the proceedings.  We will either instruct a barrister or one of our own Higher Court Advocates to represent you.

As a firm we pride ourselves on our Client Care and attention to detail, whatever the nature or seriousness of the case, and our clients can be sure that we will be there at each step in the proceedings and will investigate the client's case thoroughly.

As the Firm holds a Legal Aid contract we are able to accept both privately funded clients and those who require Legal Aid Assistance.  We are often able to provide representation at Court entirely free of charge.
